Walter Rohrl Drives a Porsche 904GTS
The Porsche 904GTS was a mid-engined road legal sports racer designed to compete against the Alfa TZs and Ferrari Dinos during the mid sixties. While not as well known as the many variants of the 911 and Porsche's later 917 sports prototype , it is feted amongst Porsche enthusiasts for it's balance, looks and pedigree.
Here rally and racing legend (not to mention Porsche test driver) Walther Rohl drives one of the later versions of the 904 fitted with a 2.0 litre flat six, earlier versions utilised a version of the flat 4 used in the 356 Carrera. Despite the value of the car (probably in the region of $1,000,000) Rohl drives it as it was intended and is frequently sideways on what looks to be a very greasy track.
Turn the speakers up to enjoy that flat 6 howl.
