Long time Drive Cult readers will probably recall the feature we ran where Stephen Mitchell talked about owning and driving his Ferrari 250GTO during the 1960s.

As well as being a rather good  raconteur about classic cars , Stephen makes films about them, and his latest project is a documentary about the legendary Carrera Panamericana road race through Mexico that ran from 1950 – 1954.

So far the documentary has only been shown during a private screening at the Cannes Film Festival in May, but Stephen has released a teaser which we show here. We're certainly looking forward to seeing the finished article.

You may also find Stephen's blog  interesting as it has plenty of other musings on his 250GTO and other Ferraris that he owned or was acquainted with including the famous 250 Breadvan.  As a film maker Stephen also sometimes writes about stories from Hollywood some of which are purely about the film industry and other intertwine his cars into the story including a story of sitting at a bar discussing 250 Lussos tyres with Steve McQueen.
